Last Weekend

We had a busy weekend but I haven't taken a lot of photos. On Wednesday night we went to Laughter Factory across the road in 'Zinc' and it was very good, one guy being very very very funny. Zadok works Thursday so we didn't stay out too late.

Thursday night we went to IMAX at Ibn Battuta Mall, it's not our favourite mall so we don't go there very often. The cinema complex has 21 screens.... Here we are with our sexy glasses on!

Last week Zadok had a small operation on his toe, (I think he just likes the attention). He looked very funny for a few days hopping around like someone out of a cartoon show. Anyway it's all fixed now.

This weekend Zadok has 2 MORE days off, so he will have a 4 day weekend! On Wednesday we are planning on going to Wild Wadi, a water park here. We were going to go in the holidays before but it was still tourist season. Thursday night is my school Ball at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel which should be fun!

What Zadok did next...

In early February Zadok was moved from Ship Repair to New Building (he spent some time there last year but this is a permanent move). As the name suggests, instead of fixing stuff he is now building stuff. They are building this oil rig for a Norwegian firm.

He is much happier in New Building as it is closer to what he wants to do. The hours are still long but he gets Friday off every week and usually part of Saturday. The conditions are better aswell, especially with summer just round the corner. He has also just been promoted and received accompanied status so that is good news for us.

I have been very slack lately. I think this is the longest time I have gone without blogging since I started. I am writing end of year novels... I mean reports... and there are various other things going on at school that make life more hectic than normal. I also keep forgetting the camera. I never read blogs if there isn't photos with them. Things should calm down in about 3 weeks. I have just 30 days of school remaining, there are 6 weeks untill Europe and 10 weeks until Australia!

Tasmania

The countdown continues, first for Europe (8 weeks) then for Australia (12 weeks)! I took these photos last August when I was in Tasmania and never blogged them.

This beautiful sunset I took out the window of the car driving from Hobart to Launceston. I have seen some amazing sunsets here but not often, and not quite up to this standard! This photo now hangs on my bathroom wall.

Rach and I were having lunch at the Gorge one day and we found out August is mating time for the peacocks! So along with our wraps we had this amazing display.

It was mildly off putting when we were trying to eat and the peacocks were close to snapping the food out of our mouths!

Tasmania is a truly beautiful place, I am really looking forward to being back for a visit!
A big CONGRATULATIONS to Sam and Phil,
(Zadok's middle sister and her husband) on the arrival of Boaz, their first child and our first nephew! At some stage I will get a photo I am sure.
